Mysore Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Mysore is the traditional and transformative method for learning Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga that comes from Mysore, South India, in the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, K. Pattabhi Jois and family. Mysore has today expanded all over the world in a global parampara, or traditional lineage of teachers and students. Although Mysore is renowned for producing advanced asana practitioners, it is also one of the best ways for beginners to start yoga because it is a very gradual system in which you only go as far as you need (and you don’t have to try to keep up with everyone else). In Mysore class, you’ll receive individualized assistance in a meditative atmosphere that empowers you to memorize, nuance, question, and refine a customized yoga practice at your own pace. We begin with the Primary Series, also known as yoga chikitsa - yoga therapy, a deeply detoxifying and well-rounded vinyasa sequence that provides a lifelong tool for supporting your mental and physical strength, flexibility, balance, stamina, discernment, and well-being.

Vinyasa Yoga
The word Vinyasa can be translated from Sanskrit as "distinctive placement". In Vinyasa Yoga, we learn to place the mind-body into distinctive postures (asana) that are threaded together, like beads on a string, through the steady practice of ujjayi breathing, also known as “victorious breath” or “oceanic breath”. It is said in the Mysore Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition that one should only practice asana (postures) with vinyasa (the proper breathing sequencing) in order to realize the full therapeutic effects of postural practice.
AquaTIC Fitness & Aqua Yoga
Aquatic Fitness offers a joyful, low-impact way to build cardiovascular endurance, coordination, and fluid strength. Using resistance and buoyancy in the pool, sessions include rhythmic movement, breath-driven exercises, and functional fitness with a sense of play and support.
Aqua Yoga is a softened, flowing practice that blends vinyasa-style sequences with mindful movement in water. We focus on breath, alignment, and embodied presence, using the natural resistance and support of water to explore postures in a gentle, therapeutic way. Final relaxation is pure bliss — floating in stillness, held by water.
Meridian Yoga Techniques (MYT)
MYT brings postural practice based in Hatha Yoga together with acupressure techniques based in Traditional Chinese Medicine to overcome Qi stagnation (which can be the deeper source of chronic pain and tension) by helping energy flow consciously through the whole body. MYT was developed by Science of Self Yoga and provides a fusion of wisdom traditions that encourage us to look beyond the surface of our body-mind to better understand our more subtle visceral and energetic vitality.
Restorative Yoga
With minimal movement and optimal attention, Restorative Yoga gives the mind-body an opportunity to relax into the conscious letting go of excess stress and muscular gripping in order to feel fully surrendered, embraced, and cradled by the ground. Unwind in the loving lap of Mother Earth. Classes can include breathing techniques (pranayama) and guided meditations (yoga nidra).
Pranayama & Meditation
Pranayama includes breathing techniques to balance and expand our natural vitality and is a great way to prepare for meditation practice. Sitting, walking, or laying down, Meditation classes provide the context to explore different contemplative techniques (dharana and dhyana) for establishing calm abiding (shamata) and insight (vipassana).
Yoga Philosophy
In Yoga Philosophy, we read, recite, discuss, and apply the knowledge offered through ancient and contemporary texts in order to question and draw inspiration from the deeper currents of why and how we practice yoga. Philosophy can stimulate our intelligence, awaken our discerning power, and help us to tap into deep wells of inspiration and inner-guidance.
Chanting & Kirtan
Chanting & Kirtan classes empower us to cut through mental chatter by connecting the head and the heart through the energy of the voice, activating the power of the throat chakra through Sanskrit chants and songs. Chanting can include japa with a mala or the recitation of passages from sacred texts. Kirtan includes easy call and response singing to open the heart to gratitude and grace, integrating and dissolving our complex emotions in the all-embracing energy of divine love.
